Toys are great - but the power of books is unparalleled!
In my opinion, books are the best gifts that you can give a child. From education to inspiration, books have the power to ignite passions and encourage an understanding of so many topics from such a young age.
In this post I’m sharing a few reasons why I think books are the best gift you can get a child!
Can inspire a child in ways you can’t imagine
We all know that books expand the mind and imagination, but one thing you might be overlooking is the power of inspiration! By exposing children to a wide variety of topics through books, the possibilities of inspiration are endless. Maybe reading My Little Golden Book About Ruth Bader Ginsburg will inspire your little one to one day become a fearless leader! Maybe reading Wally The Wandering Wallaby’s Around The World Adventure will inspire your little one to one day travel the world! The point is, you never know what will cause that spark of inspiration - and that is magical.
Can be easily stored and kept as a keepsake forever
I don’t know about you, but I still to this day, have books that my mom received as baby shower gifts when I was still in her belly!
I have books from aunts, uncles, family friends, and grandparents - most of them inscribed with a personal note from the time of gifting. To still have these books in my possession is so special and a wonderful reminder of such precious memories and relationships.
Books are such great gifts to give kids because they can easily be stored and later be taken out for a trip down memory lane, and can be kept as a keepsake for years to come.
In fact, books can even become family heirlooms and be passed down from generation to generation. How special is that?!
BONUS: buying books supports authors and illustrators :)
Every time you buy a book, you are supporting an author and illustrator who poured their heart and soul into their work! I can attest to the fact that the book-making process is a labor of love and that each and every part is made with love ❤️
